The Space Between Thought

There is something
you rarely notice.
Not because it is hidden—
but because it does not hold your attention.
It exists
between one thought
and the next.
So brief
you move past it
without knowing it was there.
Even now…
A thought has just finished.
And another is already forming.
But just before it arrives—
There.
Did you feel it?
Don’t try to go back.
You won’t find it that way.
It is not something you return to.
It is something you begin to notice
as it happens.
Again—
A thought…
and then…
…
Before the next one fully appears.
Stay close to that edge.
Not inside the thought.
Not waiting for the next one.
Just here.
Where nothing is being said.
Where nothing is being formed.
It may feel like nothing at all.
That’s why it’s missed.
But remain
just a moment longer than usual…
And something begins to shift.
Not outwardly.
Not in a way that can be described.
But in the way everything feels
when it is no longer being filled.
You are not creating this space.
You are noticing
what has always been there.
And the more it is noticed…
The less you feel the need
to leave it.
